Abstract

Nutrition plays a key role, whether we know it or not, in everyone’s life and is a key element in health and well-being. This book is intended to provide the basic information needed by physicians and members of the healthcare to deliver sound nutritional advice to their patients and clients. Basic nutritional education is defective for many health professionals because of competing educational demands for time in healthcare curricula. Even where nutritional education is adequate, there is continuing need to update this information as science makes new advances. While the effects of COVID-19 are not completely understood, there is an agreement that understanding nutrition will be ever more important to clinicians and the health of their patients. This is another reason that this volume is of value to physicians and healthcare professionals.
