Abstract
The theoretical investigation was conducted for the dividing flow header. A mathematical formula of the power velocity distribution describing the flow behavior along the header was obtained, which includes the present linear velocity distribution. The linear distribution is a special case of power's at the balance between momentum and friction. Specially, when momentum of friction is dominant, the linear distribution deviates from experimental data and physical phenomena and a power distribution is more reasonable. The theoretical prediction with the power velocity distribution agrees better with experimental results than those with the linear distribution.
