Harmonizing Soundscapes: An International Acoustic Ecology Partnership

Project: Grants (e.g. Tri-Agency)Full Application

Project Details

Description

This project supports the development of an international research partnership in acoustic ecology, focused on coordination, governance design, and long-term capacity building across an existing global network of researchers, artists, and organizations working on soundscapes, environmental sound, and listening practices. Stage 1 activities are dedicated to partnership development rather than new research, including consultation with partners, clarification of shared priorities, design of governance and decision-making structures, and preparation for a potential multi-year SSHRC Partnership Grant.

Layman's description

This project brings together researchers, artists, and organizations from around the world who study environmental sound and soundscapes. The goal is to build better ways for them to work together over the long term by designing clear structures for collaboration, training, and public engagement. At this stage, the project focuses on planning and coordination rather than conducting new research.
