Personal profile

My primary interests are social inequality, the Sociology of Religion, the Sociology of Mysticism, religious experience, and social transformation. My work focuses on historical and contemporary analysis of human spirituality, religion, mysticism, mystical experience, and its powerful and transformative potential. This work, which includes efforts to develop a a Connection Framework, was initiated by my own series of mystical experiences, partially documented here. In my work, I also focus on the intersections of social class, gender, and ethnicity on how these impact our individual and collective understanding and implementation of spirituality and spiritual systems. I am specifically concerned with developing a decolonized and authentic form of spirituality and a spiritually sophisticated form of psychology.
