Personal profile

Meenal Shrivastava is Associate Dean in the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Professor of Political Economy and Global Studies at Athabasca University. She has served on several governance boards and the editorial boards of numerous journals. Her academic research on the interactions of globalization and democracy has so far led to the publication of three books and more than one hundred and fifty articles, book chapters, papers, and opinion pieces. Additionally, she has written more than a dozen creative pieces using relational stories to illustrate how individual lives intersect with broad social-political-economic trends, and why it matters.
