    Personal profile

    Research Interests

I am interested in auroral effects on space weather, which can affect ground infrastructure such as power networks. In addition to detector networks and observatories, I have developed novel instruments for such study. I am also interested in observational astronomy, particularly with robotic telescopes, but recenty using satellite data. Space physics of auroras and the effects of Space Weather. Astronomy of asteroids. Instrumentation development.

    Personal profile

Martin Connors is an astronomer and geophysicist. His discoveries in astronomy include Earth's Trojan asteroid and the first "backwards" Trojan asteroid of Jupiter, as well as the pattern of impact of the Chicxulub crater which resulted in dinosaur extinction. He also studies the history of astronomy and writes on the subject. He founded magnetic observation networks across Canada and observatories in and near Athabasca for studies of the northern lights and their magnetic and electric effects.
