    I am concerned with law and legal processes in their social context, including such issues as access to justice, alternative dispute resolution, and legislative development.

    Archie taught in the Law and Legal Studies programs at Murdoch University Law School in Perth Western Australia where he designed courses in the dispute resolution area including Negotiation and Mediation. Trained as a mediator in Australia and Canada, he mediated for the Citizens Advice Bureau Perth and was a trainer for the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia. After returning to Canada in 2005 Archie acted as a volunteer mediator for the Mediation and Restorative Justice Centre in Edmonton. As a faculty member at Athabasca University his research interests centre on mediation and conflict resolution.
