Personal profile

As Associate Vice-President, Research, I support the Athabasca University research community in discovery, innovation, and impact, represent this cadre of research academics for external groups, and lead research strategy at Canada’s only open university. My own research program is guided by an interest in lost or forgotten worlds of antiquity as well as the creative design of research discoveries from that time into non-traditional formats. My research has been funded the Social Science and Humanities Research Council and the Canada Research Chairs program with select publications recognized by the Manfred Laughtenschaeger Award from the University of Heidelberg and David Noel Freedman Award from the Society of Biblical Literature.
