This project focuses on developing a mobile-friendly version of the circum boreal foods website which is takes a circumpolar perspective and allows communities to share specific examples of boreal food procurement and processing through text, photos, and videos. As many Indigenous people in the north access the internet though their phones or other smart devises, rather than with computers, having a mobile-friendly site became necessary to ensure that the website can truly act as a repository and knowledge resources for communities and researchers.
The process of updating the website has allowed the research team to include Cree knowledge holders as true research collaborators as evidenced through the inclusion of Cree langue videos and subtitles.
